Year 8 student, Isaac, beat off competition from over 100,000 pupils from across the UK to win a place in the final of the ‘Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge’ hosted by the University of Oxford and supported by Google.

The Bebras challenge is a problem-solving contest with questions inspired by topics in computer science. In the first round, held in their own schools, students have to solve as many problems as possible in the allotted time.

Isaac was among the top 60 highest achieving students in his age group and travelled to the University of Oxford’s Computer Science Department to contest the final round in February. He was also presented with a certificate for reaching the final during a prize-giving ceremony.
