Academic
Renowned for high standards of teaching and outstanding academic achievements, our Senior School consistently ranks among the best in the country.
GREAT RESULTS ARE NOT SIMPLY about topping league tables for us – it’s what it means for our students that matters most. Our priority is enabling our young people to shape the future they want – attaining the grades they need to progress to the next step but more importantly doing the very best they can. Our philosophy is that happy students learn. The balance between academic challenge, engaging enrichment and second-to-none pastoral provision creates that perfect environment for students to flourish.
66% of GCSE entries in summer 2024 were awarded grades 9-7 versus 48% nationally in independent schools and 27% nationally for all schools.Learn More |
Value AddedVALUE ADDED REFERS TO THE measurement of the progress and improvement students make during their time in education, taking into account their starting point. It evaluates the impact a school or teacher has on a student's learning and development beyond what might be expected based on prior attainment. Here at The Grange School we have been placed in the top 1% of schools nationally for value added at GCSE. This means that students have done better here than they would have done almost anywhere else. |

A Curriculum That Inspires
THE GRANGE SENIOR SCHOOL CURRICULUM integrates academic, enrichment, and personal development programmes. Students are encouraged to work hard, embrace challenges, and show commitment. They make us proud every single day as they rise to the challenge with relish and success, receiving as much help and encouragement as they need along the way.
Before students make their GCSE options, we make sure they have the opportunity to try every subject, from Maths to Food & Nutrition. We understand the value in educating students through a wide and varied curriculum. It is this that lets young people discover an unknown talent they can pursue and thrive in.
Students participate in the many Enrichment opportunities we provide and they understand the importance of this as a part of their education. We also have a dedicated Student Welfare and Support Team who are here for students to help them through any challenges they face.
Educating the Whole Child
We believe in educating the whole child. When students leave us, they are fully prepared for the adult world as open-minded, confident individuals because they were given the chance to live their education at The Grange.

Careers Support at the Senior School
CAREERS PROVISION AT THE GRANGE starts in Year 7. In PSHE/Mentor lessons, students are encouraged to think about their interests and skills - as well as their potential future aspirations. In Year 8 the students start to use a number of careers based sites to build up a picture of likely industry areas and skills based work that may interest them. Students (and their parents) from Year 9 and above are invited to a regular series of Breakfast Seminars covering a wide range of industries. Year 10 students attend the Careers room and are shown all the resources on offer and complete a 'scavenger hunt'. During one-to-one careers interviews in Year 11, students are advised about A Level choices, apprenticeships, etc. |
