The Grange School is celebrating a second consecutive year ranking as the fifth best independent secondary school in the North West by the Sunday Times’ Parent Power Schools Guide 2024. The Hartford-based school ranks within the top 10% of more than 1,600 of the highest-achieving state and independent schools in the UK based on grades achieved in the Summer 2023 exams.
The 31st edition of the Parent Power guide was published online today ranks schools on their average performance using A-level and GCSE results. This is the first true reflection of performance post-COVID as grade boundaries in England returned to their pre-pandemic level. For many students this was also their first time sitting formal exams.
Head of The Grange School, Dr Lorraine Earps, praised students and staff for their dedication towards creating a wonderful environment that continues to achieve academic excellence.
“It is very rewarding for both staff and students when the immense hard work, commitment, resilience and passion that’s evident every day, in every classroom, and throughout every lesson, activity, performance and trip, is reflected in our external exam results. It is testament to our modern, forward-thinking approach that our students achieve the all-important balance of great exam results with their growth as individuals to become the very best version of themselves and are equipped to realise their potential in all aspects of their lives.”
Whilst the pandemic has presented all schools with unimaginable obstacles, The Grange School continues to keep pace with some of the best schools in the UK. With an extensive co-curriculum, commitment to the local community and continual investment in its facilities, the school is a leading light for independent education within the region.
