Cheshire Police Cyber Crime Unit Visits to Promote Online Safety Awareness
On Friday, October 4th, Year 7 students had the privilege of attending a special session on online safety led by DC Andy Kevan from the Cheshire Police Cyber Crime Unit. In a lively Skills for Life lesson, DC Kevan shared valuable insights on staying safe online, highlighting the risks and consequences of using smartphones and social media.
But the excitement didn’t stop there! During lunchtime, our Digital Leaders from Years 9 and 10 had a unique opportunity to sit down with DC Kevan for an exclusive podcast interview. The students took charge, selecting their own questions and exploring topics that matter most to them. Their questions were thoughtful, and the discussion included some fantastic advice for parents on keeping their children safe in the digital world.
The podcast is available by clicking here and we encourage parents and students alike to tune in. DC Kevan will also be returning throughout the year to continue the conversation with students in Years 8 to 11, ensuring everyone benefits from this crucial learning experience on online safety.
Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s keep our school community informed and safe online!
