The school will remain open until the end of this week.
However, we have a number of teaching staff who are having to stay at home. We will endeavour to run a programme of lessons for the following two days but there may be some alterations to the timetable in order to facilitate this.
If you choose to keep your children off school for the remainder of this week, please can I ask that you email the office ([email protected]) in order that we can update registers accordingly. Children who come to school will be looked after in the usual way.
The school will run the Remote Learning from Monday 23rd March for the two weeks leading up to Easter, in the first instance.
The Prime Minister mentioned keeping schools open to key workers. We will be seeking clarity around the definition of a key worker and then giving it some thought as to what this means for The Grange School and we will no doubt be getting further information from the DfE.
He also mentioned that public exams in May/June will not take place. We will be seeking clarity as to what this means for our Year 11 & 13 students. Although the exams are not taking place, they may, however, look for evidence in other ways in order to grade students. I would, therefore, advise that students in these year groups continue to follow the programme of learning, already planned until we gain clarity of expectations from the examination boards.
There has been a lot of news this evening of which we need to understand and gain greater clarity on before I can make any further statements. I ask that you bear with us at this unprecedented time and want to reassure you that we will be doing everything we can so that our students are not disadvantaged whilst remembering that everyone’s health comes first.
We will endeavour to send out further information over the next 48 hours.
