The prestigious ‘Green Flag’ that can be seen flying outside of the Junior School school is the highest accolade awarded for environmental work within schools.

We are so proud to have been awarded this for our work towards reducing plastic waste, specifically our efforts in recycling plastic packaging and designing and selling our own school water bottles that are made from sugar cane.

As a school we’re really keen to do our bit to help to work towards a better future for us all and our initiatives are all overseen by the Junior School’s 'Planet Protectors' who are Year 5 and 6 volunteers.

We continue to look at how we can reduce our overall waste and we have a programme of paper recycling throughout the school as well as separating waste in the staff room and kitchen for recycling. There have been upcycling competitions, we set up a battery collection point and we are proud to have spent some time working with the RSPB to understand more about biodiversity, part of which is our  commitment to enforcing the emissions-free zone in our car park by asking parents not to sit with their car engines idling. Of course there is always more that can be done and we will continue to post updates on all of our green initiatives.
